Takes No Time to Be What You Are

It has taken time to misguide you so completely, but it takes no time at all to be what you are.

ACIM-T: Chapter 15:9:3

Most of us are "misguided" by ego's alliance with time; stuck in past memory to define who and what we are.  We identify ourselves by the roles we play and played, what we own or don't own,  and by our "history".  We often see ourselves, as Tolle shares in the below video, as a set of problems needing to be solved.

But we are not these stories ego tells us and others; we are not our pasts, our problems, our thoughts or feelings, are we?  Wayne Dyer in  his posthumously published book, The Power of Awakening, reminds us we are not our bodies either.  We are not form. We are the formless on which the form emerges. We are not the wrapping...we are that which is almighty within the wrapping.

Many of us are misguided...believing in the wrapping and not what is within it because we cannot see the within through the wrapping.  He gives an analogy about going to the grocery store and finding a beautifully packaged product with a picture of brocoli and almonds on it.  We buy the product because we like the  package. Imagine being   so excited about it, you rush home, tear it off the product  and boil it ...not the product ....in the pot. That would be strange , right?  Yet, so fooled are many of us  by packaging,  we forget that there is a   product within the packaging.

It is not the package that will noursih us.

It takes years and years, centuries and centuries to misguide us into believing what we believe.  Ego has been around for a long time...in our schools, our churches, our science, our cultures and societies, being passed down from one generation to  another.

It is is so easy, then,  to succumb to this idea that we are our bodies, the roles we play, what we believe, think and feel.  It is easy to be amongst the many who firmly  believe that who they are stops at the form. What can not be seen, grasped, held...perceived by the five senses cannot be real...is what we are conditioned to believe.  But Wayne Dyer challenges:

You can't hold wind, you can't smell wind, you can't touch wind...you can only see the results of wind. That's all. You know that wind exists, but nobody's ever seen it. How could you do that?

Though it has taken much time to misguide us so completely...it takes so little time at all for us to be who we truely are.

Stop.  Get quiet.  Breathe.  That is who you are...the breath being breathed, the love and peace being felt, the stillness, the quiet, the moment you are in...

You are  not the form that appears to be doing the breathing or the mind that appears to be doing the thinking. You are so much more.  You are the formless beneath the form.

And it doesn't take time to be that.  It takes the opposite of time...it takes one breath of presence, one moment of being.

Hmm!

All is well in my world!
