If you can let go of your stuff, you can get along with anyone. [And you can handle anything.]
Michael A. Singer
Letting go of our stuff; cleaning out our insides; purifying; removing the blockages/samskaras; and getting beyond our habit tendencies is the healing path yoga and other practices encourage. Any change or cleansing process begins with something called "will". Will is focused attention. Are you willing to focus the amazing light of conscious attention away from the "little me and its drama" it is too often focused on and point it in the direction of your own healing? Are you willing to let go and release all that which you erroneously kept stuffed inside and preserved because you thought it was who you were?
I often say to a loved one I am trying my best to support and coach into healing, "Don't begin your affirmations for healthier choices with "I want ...", begin them with , "I am willing to...". When we are willing to...we are not fighting against anything and we are not preferring. We are simply allowing what is and surrendering to a better way. We are willing to let go of that which is holding us back.
Our samskaras, the stored and stuffed emotionally charged memories we use to define ourselves in this story we are writing called, "My Life, " have to go. They are in the way of us experiencing what is real. Without them we will be pulled up rather than down. We will no longer be disturbed by other people or other things that are happening around us.
Are you willing to let go?
If so ...focus your attention on that willingness rather than on what is in the way. Let go of or simply allow whatever is stuffed inside to come up and be released. With everything we let go of, we open up more and more to what is. We feel lighter, less attached to the outer world. We get higher and higher. We free ourselves from the confining absorption on "me". Use your will and your willingness to get you there.
All is well.
