Beyond the Dark Night

 Freeing the Timeless Essence

There is a timeless essence beyond "me"

hidden in the soul,

beyond the grasping ego

that is always seeking more.

Swallowed by the rubble

of a collapsed philosophy,

confusion is the only marker

that will set the essence free.

Yet, one trips over this pointer

falling flat upon the face,

gets up and moves away from

the wisdom of this place...

Again and again and again,

we  fall as we circle all round

convinced the graveyard of the Self\

will remain hidden in the ground.

Within the grip of interpretation,

that makes sense only to the mind,

Soul's elusive nature seems impossible

to find.

We suffer in the "vanity of vanities"

of a thought stream that is dark,

drowning in its pointlessness

until suddenly there is a spark.

We hear the whispers of ascended masters

saying we will help you friend,

We have shown you how suffering begins,

now we will show you how it ends.

The message, just a tiny little ember

burning within the very core

lights up the sign we missed

and slowly burning more

until

we see where Self has been buried

beneath the mass of  worldly lies,

and digging down we free the Soul

admist triumphant cries.
