The Commanality of Psychology, Spirituality and Physiology

All change happens when we see ourselves from the grounded state of presence...

Dr. Nicole LaPera

I like to find the commanality of psychology, spirituality and science (physiology) and merge them together for a better understanding of the effects of wounding and the route to lasting healing.

I believe they all point to the same thing...Life does what it does offering a host of different sensations.  We have all these experiences. Some of them beautiful and others very difficult. If the experiences were very challenging for our nervous systems to cope with...we store them in our bodies and minds. They become, what a yogi would call a "samskara" and what a psychologist would call a repressed emotional pattern and what a physiologist would call an energy blockage or disease.

They also all point to the fact that we need first of all to become aware of how these stuffed and stored energies are determining our lives.  Even though most of these samskaras were created before the age of 7 with our childhood programming....most of our core beliefs about our worthiness, the safety of the world, or our place in it...they will determine our lives until we wake up to them.  Our programming determines the personalities we create and how we experience life.

We need to look at the life patterns in our adult life and see how they relate to what we stuffed and stored, our childhood wounding that we spend our lives running from by creating personalities and actions  that diminish the negative experience of the messaging that keeps coming up.

We need to be willing to spend time alone exploring these patterns and releasing the samskaras so the energy of who we are can flow through. We check in with the body several times a day to see where these samskaras are stored and begin encouraging the body to relax so they can begin to release. We explore the mind and its connection to our life experience. ...accepting and letting go of what does not serve.

We watch and train ourselves through the life triggers we are given. We go from reacting to responding in a healthy way.

We still act but we do not react based on that stuff we have stored in there.
